I’ve said before, that horses are a confounding combination of power and fragility. Gladys was the epitome of that statement – a bold, big mare with a delicate digestive tract, which was her final undoing. A week ago tonight I had to say goodbye. She was one of my favourite muses. We’ll miss her around here - she leaves one big empty stall.

On and on the rain will fall
Like tears from a star like tears from a star
On and on the rain will say
How fragile we are...

Sending warm thoughts your way.
