Decisions! What Should I Paint Next?

I think I only have about three oil paintings on the go right now, which for me is not nearly enough! I've got a few potentials I'm considering, so I thought I'd share and get you all to help me decide which one to start first. They're all different types of paintings, most of which I will probably get to eventually – I just thought it would be kind of fun to find out what others would like to see! (and if anyone is actually reading this blog!) Some of these potential reference photos you've seen on here already. I'm going to try out Blogger's poll feature for the first time, so look for it in the right-hand column, and place your vote! Comments are of course always welcome.


This first (above) is from a morning on the training track at Woodbine. This one would be a challenge, and one where the photo is definitely only a starting point as I explore the backlit subject and enhance the sunrise. If you've followed racing at all, this is Bear Now a few weeks before her start in the Breeders' Cup Distaff at Monmouth in 2007.


Next shot (above) is from Saratoga. Saratoga is a great place to get photos on the turn for home. I want to do this one fairly big, which will also make my life a bit easier as it's quite complex. I need another action racing scene to add to my repertoire, and this is one I'm pondering.


There are a couple of foal pics I'm contemplating. First is this cute shot of Leo (above), the colt that was born here February 9. I've already cropped this one the way I'd like to paint it. Next foal shot is of a momma and baby at another local Thoroughbred breeding farm (below).


Finally, I have a painting I've been planning from a shot taking by a photographer friend. This is one of the up close and personal depictions I love to do, along the lines of "Outside Chance" and one of my current works in progress (see below), working title "Toss." This one is going to be the "mystery photo" as I'm not going to post it unless it's the favourite! If you like those really tight crops, well, this might be up your alley.
