Week Fourteen - A Compromise

I spent the last four days at a show - once again displaying my work in the lobby of the CTHS Sales Pavilion for the Select Yearling Sales. Today meant regrouping - something like that really throws the routine out of whack! About halfway through the afternoon it struck me that it was not in fact Monday, which is what it felt like, but Wednesday, and filly painting day! I had pretty much decided I would postpone the weekly painting until Friday, as tomorrow I'll be setting up another show, but I just decided tonight that I would do a quick sketch from my intended reference. I will paint this at some point!

This is 11 x 14, done with a broken piece of sepia pencil! Super-quick, 5-10 mins. And you know what? It was fun! If you look closely at the background (which is why I didn't crop it to the edge of the paper) you'll see one of my commissions in progress...I'm really liking how its coming along, and can't wait to get back at it!

Love them both! Sometimes those quick sketches come out really good - this one sure did!
